Great job to all of our students in Concert Choir, Jazz Choir, Concert Band, Jazz Combo and Tuesday Jazz Band for a very successful and entertaining Winter Concert this past Friday! The video of the Concert Band below includes audio mixed from two different microphones:
The SHSMB ended their season with amazing performances at MICCA Finals and NESBA Finals! After a strong 4-Star performance at MICCA Prelims in Norwood, the band earned a 5-Star rating at MICCA Finals the very next week in Lowell. On November 2nd, the band had their best show of the season at NESBA Finals in Lawrence, placing first in Division IV and winning the 2013 Championship! The band was escorted back to SHS by several trucks from the Stoughton Fire Department.
Thank you to everyone involved in making this such a successful season! Staff, students, and parents came together all Fall to build a great show and create memories that will last a lifetime.

The SHSMB had a great run in USBands this Fall! Starting at Medway High School, the band came in second place and received caption awards in Music and Overall Effect. The following weekend, we came in first place at King Philip Regional High School and received all three caption awards (Best Music, Best Effect, Best Visual)! Congrats to the band members for their hard work and perseverance!
Next week the SHSMB returns to NESBA for their show at Framingham High School. Can you believe the season is already half-over?
Don't forget about the Sponsor-a-thon rehearsal this Saturday, followed by a parent performance at 2:30 and a cookout sponsored by POPS at 3:00! Everyone needs to fill out and return the following forms to Mr. Mange as soon as possible (if you haven't already): Sponsor Form and Cookout Form.
Check out the band's most recent performance below. Thanks to Rad Williams for recording it!
These kids know what's up! "Rhythm is Gonna Get You" and "A Night in Tunisia" are both already on the field, marching AND playing WITH guard work!
We're saving the last line of the "mantra" for the last day of Band Camp... only two days left.
